For over twenty-five years, our school has provided an affordable and high-quality program for children of Finnish heritage in the Seattle area that exposes students not only to Finnish language, but to art, music and cultural experiences. The foundation of our success is our commitment to maintaining a stable, talented and committed team of teachers. None of this is possible without the generosity of individual donors. Tuition fees typically cover less than half of the total costs for the school, with the balance supplied by grants from the Finnish government and fundraising.
- maintain small class sizes to ensure an appropriate student-to-teacher ratio that enables one-on-one interactions in the classroom and a peaceful learning environment
- invest in teacher training programs to build on past successes by introducing new skills and content areas into the curriculum
- build a strong, engaging learning community that goes beyond the classroom
